Jennell E. Nelson, M.D.

For the past ten years, Dr. Nelson has been an adult and pediatric clinical dermatologist in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. Dr. Nelson completed medical school at Meharry Medical College in 1996 and her residency training at Washington Hospital Center in Internal Medicine, and University Hospitals of Cleveland in Dermatology.

Prior to joining The Skin & Laser Surgery Center, Dr. Nelson worked at Kaiser Permanente in Springfield, VA and also directed the Kaiser Permanente Cosmetic Laser Surgery Program in Falls Church, VA. In 2008, she worked at the NOVA Medical Group Dermatology Clinics in Ashburn and Warrenton, VA.

Dr. Nelson is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is published in numerous academic dermatologic journals and has special interests in scarring, ethnic skin disorders and rare cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease.
